Whites Bar & Kitchen is a 15th century coach house and Inn tucked away in the sleepy village of Steyning, surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs. Our award winning restaurant and bar offers true country elegance, charm and outstanding contemporary design.

At Whites we offer bespoke weddings as we believe that each and every wedding is a unique event. As a family run business we offer a personalised wedding service where you can really imprint your mark on the day. 

Whites Restaurant

Our award winning restaurant is housed in the old coach house and has been lovingly converted to offer a beautiful space abundant with natural light and opulent charm. Our Head Chef will work with you to design a menu of your choice from an intimate wedding breakfast to a lavish feast.

Whites Bar

Whites bar offers the perfect area for drinks and canapé receptions for guests on arrival. Old meets new in this contemporary space where original features remind us of the areas rich historical tapestry. During warmer months guests are welcome to enjoy our spacious outdoor terrace which overlooks the village high street below. We have facilities for live music or a DJ in the bar if you’d like to dance the night away.

Steyning is situated within half an hour of Brighton with great road links, and a train station only five miles away. Accommodation is in steady supply with a good range of local hotels.

  • Whites Restaurant – 90 seated guests
  • Whites Bar – 150 guests (standing)
  • Whites outdoor terrace – 150 guests (standing)

Exclusive Venue Hire

Whites restaurant private hire – we do not operate hire charges but require the below spend on food and drink.

  • Weekend: Minimum spend £6,000 (food and drink)
  • Weekday: Minimum spend £4,000 (food and drink)

Whites Bar hire

No charge (excluding exclusive use) but minimum occupancy for bar hire areas

  • Lower bar – 30
  • Middle bar – 40
  • Upper bar - 30
  • Exclusive use – 150 with £1,500 charge
  • Exclusive restaurant, Terrace and Bar hire – £4,000
